Comprehensive library asset (books and media) tracking and security

Rapid, easy and self Check in/ Check out solution

High Speed Inventorying of library assets

Search to locate assets across the library
Library Central features

Rapid Check in / Check out
The use of Library Central solution reduces the amount of time required to perform library operations. The most significant time savings are attributable to the facts that information can be read from RFID tags much faster compared to barcodes and several items in a stack can be read at the same time

Self Check in/ Check out:
Patrons using self check out, can do it by placing items and their ID at the kiosk to capture all the information in the application software. They can also do multiple items check out at the same time. They can self check out at the kiosks with readers for book-drops.

Highly reliable solution:
The readers are highly reliable and the library systems can almost provide 100 percent detection rate using RFID tags. If the assets aren’t properly checked-out, the exit sensors will trigger an immediate alarm.

High Speed Inventorying:
A unique advantage of the solution is its ability to scan books on the shelves without removing or moving them. A hand-held inventory reader can be moved rapidly across a shelf of books to read all of the unique identification information. Using wireless technology, it is possible not only to update the inventory, but also to identify items which aren’t in order.

Automated materials handling:
Another application of this library management solution is automated asset handling. This includes conveyer and sorting systems that can move library assets and sort them by category into separate bins or onto separate carts. This significantly reduces the amount of staff time required to ready materials for re-shelving.**

Lower cost of ownership:
The overall cost of ownership from a long term perspective is lower compared to traditional solutions. RFID tags last longer than barcodes because nothing comes into contact with them. Most RFID tags can be attributed a minimum of 100,000 transactions before the tag is replaced.

How does it work?
1) Tagging:
All the books, journals, magazines, etc. in the library including audio and video assets are RFID tagged. These tags captures unique information of each asset with complete details
2) Shelf Management:
Managing books, resources, tapes has never been so easy in terms of shelf stacking and locating
4) Check in/ out services:
Patrons can take assistance of the library staff for check in / out services or any other additional library guidance
5) Anti Theft Detection:
The Anti Theft Gates at the exit gates will alert if someone takes out a book isn’t checked out.
) Self Check in/ out:
Patrons can self check in and check out at the kiosks inside the library. Doesn’t require any staff intervention. They need to use their ID card which will update the system with the details of the books borrowed and the patron’s ID in real time
6) Book Drop:
Patrons can drop the books at the Book Drop Kiosk and get the system updated in real time.
